About Multi Level Marketing

You earn commission from the sales you make, and the more products disposed the larger income you will get. But the problem with this kind of business marketing is, unlike in multilevel marketing business, earning substantial amount of money is not possible for the most dealers, especially those who are in the lower levels.

The reason is products pass through a number of distributors that by the time commissions are to be paid, there are many who need to share the income sales. In business methods like this, the products that come from the manufacturer have to go to the warehouse distributor and then to the area distributors.

They would eventually go to the sub-distributors who will pass them to the dealers and finally to the retailers. The retailers buy the products from the higher level, which in return, buys their stock from their upper level, and so on.

In this type of business, the emphasis is always put on selling. Each level has to fill an order and replenish an inventory by purchasing the products from the next upper level. If the sub-distributors of the distributor did not sell enough products, the distributor still has to purchase stocks from their higher level in order to keep their distributor's status – otherwise, they would lose it. So, even if there are still products in the inventory, the distributor needs to use money from their own pocket to buy stocks for their future sales.

The Multi Level Marketing Experience

The multi level marketing business concept was taken from the above marketing method. However, the emphasis was not on selling products but more on recruiting sales people. It was more than 50 years ago when the first multi level marketing strategy was launched where the products used were nutritional supplements.

Contrary to the other method of selling products, the companies that used multi level marketing concept do not need a number of distributors and retailers in order to dispose them. Instead, they only need their members to take the products which were acquired from the manufacturers and let them distribute directly to the market.

The main goal of this business model is to have more and more people to join and each of them make their purchase. Why is this so? Each member to sign up with the company needs to buy the product. The Commission

In order to make the sales, all recruited members are required to buy a certain amount of product. In most cases, the amount of the product is already included in the signing-up fee. The ASBS Version 2 model is simple genius:

1) Each and every month there appears the same Video Squeeze Page intended to opt-in subscribers for "Internet Marketing Genius" newsletters!

2) The user has to promote these newsletters and only the newsletters. And the user has to build the so called "his" single opt-in list. But even if the user does nothing at all, ASBS promises to "market for him," that is, to add subscribers to "his" list (please don't ask when and how many!). Obviously, this list is at the disposal of the membership's owner and at no one else's!

3) Moreover, the membership owner, the one and only, will sell to this list a "variety of products" (again, don't ask what, when or how!).

4) And the owner and no one else will share the commissions that these sales generate with the membership users (when and how much is a mystery!).

An additional "blossom" is that in the gratitude for a more effectively bringing leads to the membership owner's list (or, alternatively, for a more effectively doing nothing at all) the user will "be provided with the best marketing tools to help you drive traffic to the squeeze pages. We'll also teach you how to get free traffic". How nice of the owner!

What the user unconditionally gets is to pay $37 monthly. This is not too expensive for such a lovely trap.

"Affiliate Silver Bullets" - Review

On February 10, 2008, I signed up for the "Affiliate Silver Bullets" (ASB) service and received a set of 10 ASB. Here are my first impressions:

1)The "Video Squeeze Pages" are professionally designed and very nice.

2)The 250 articles (25 per product) are given as HTML pages so:
a)If you want to submit an article to an article directory you have to extract it from HTML;
b)And if you want to build a site or a mini-site from the product articles, you will at least have to build the index page.

3)There is a problem of traffic. The ASB needs traffic and does not supply it.

4)If you don't have aWeber account, then you build the opt-in list for AffiliateSilverBullets.com. And Not for yourself!

5)0.23; 0.96; 1.96; 2.27; 12.2; 22.76; 31.12; 38.33; 40.47. These "magic" numbers are gravities of the ASB products and they don't look like gravities of "hot selling" products. Even the product that has the gravity of 40.47, has a rank of only 11 in its category.

That is what I think.

By the way, I could easily find the ASB products on the ClickBank marketplace using the program I am now writing. The user of this program can find a product according to a piece of text in the product title and/or description, according to category, merchant ID, etc. . . . Using the program, you can find a product and see how popular and converting it is. The filtering possibilities are much more flexible and powerful than the searching possibilities of Clickbank marketplace and of the majority of analogous programs.

It works exactly like the "Find Profitable Affiliate Products To Promote" project of Affiliate Elite for ClickBank marketplace. But it has a more user friendly interface. And the user knows exactly to what extent the product database is up-to-date, since the program itself makes the database upgrade. So there is no dependence on additional service and therefore the database always will be up-to-date without any doubts and without monthly payments!

Sidebar disaster

After a number of posts to my blog I suddenly saw that the sidebar dropped under the main body and stayed there. Surely I wanted the sidebar to be returned to its previous location: on the right side, at the level of the last post. I tried to turn to the tech support of the Blogger but was sent to register in the Blogger Help Group. After registering, I saw a lot of posts with the same problem. People blame the Beta Blogger and ask for help. So it was clear I had to do something myself. And I found a solution to this problem: the sidebar is now in its place (at least in IE). How did I do this? It is very simple:
1. I went to the Template tab of Blogger
2. Found
div id="sidebar"
text in the HTML code of my blog.
3. Replaced it by
div id="sidebar" style="POSITION: absolute; TOP: 350px"
(350px is not a magic number: play a bit with it – increase or decrease it).

And voila the disaster is gone!

Will Adsense Arbitrage die?

Arbitrage is a nice name for the well known principle: "buy low, sell high". And the “Adsense Arbitrage” (also known as “Google Arbitrage” or “click Arbitrage”) is a realization of this principle in the field of AdWords and Adsense programs. How does it work?

First, one builds a webpage (arbitrage page) that contains keywords that are competitive and highly paid for by Adsense, but usually does not include (or almost does not include) any information (at least, nothing valuable). So such a page consists of nothing but links to contextual ads from AdSense.

Second, the person places an ad in AdWords with a link to that page and sets bid prices for his keywords (that are usually irrelevant to the page content) at the lowest level: $0.01-0.05.

Thus the Advertiser drives cheap traffic to his page in hopes that a surfer, that sees only the links, will click on some. And because of the bid gap he expects to get substantial profit.
Indeed, this “click arbitrage” tactics brought its users tons of money. Not by chance, the authors of books teaching “the method secrets” promise: “Money in 15 Minutes”, “Gold-Filled 24-hour Online ATM”…

But something happened: recently Google has updated its "landing page quality" scoring algorithm. The algorithm itself is a “know-how” of Google, but because of it, the Cost Per Click (the minimum amount to be paid for an ad display) for ads that link to low–quality arbitrage pages leaped to $5-10. This makes it almost impossible to profit from this method. And a lot of “Adsense Arbitrage” players start to loose money. They do not welcome the changes. There is much talk going on about “Google craziness”, “Google shooting itself in the leg” etc.

So, is the method of “Adsense Arbitrage” going to die? Certainly not.
Essentially, Google wishes to see its ads on pages that “provide relevant and substantial content”. So there are ways to return to the previous level of CPC.
One option is to rewrite the existing pages according to Google’s guidelines, say, by adding relevant content.
Another option is to test other cheap traffic sources instead of AdWords, such pay per click engines as Yahoo and MSN.

Phishing Scam

A lot has been written about all known kinds of scams including “Phishing”. But criminals keep on throwing their nets and having quite a good take. Therefore we have to continue exposing the phishing attempts. And since “it is better to see once than hear 10 times” I want to share with you 2 emails that I have recently received.

These are really similar letters (in fact it is almost the same one with tiny differences). The letter(s) are as follows:

Subjects:
1. We were unable to authorize charges to the Credit Card Number you provided.
2. Your Amazon Account will be Closed!

“Dear AOL Client, (Dear Client)

As part of our security measures, we regularly screen activity in our network.

We recently noticed the following issue on your account: A recent review of your transaction history determined that we require an update of your account in order to provide you with secure services.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

You must click the link below and fill in the form on the following page to complete the verification process.

(http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html)

We thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. Please understand that this is a security measure intended to help protect you and your account.

There is no need to talk much about the importance of indexing a web site by search engines. In short, if the site is not indexed it does not exist!
There is a little known way to include in the MSN index every site and every page that are not indexed yet. How to do this? Very simple:
go to the page

Submit your site to MSN Search

and in the input field entitled “Type the URL of your homepage”,
type in the URL of any page you wish.

And after 24-48 hours your page is IN!

Inside scam

Let’s discuss the scam letter from my previous post.
In short, the Sender wrote:

He has money.
The money is legitimately made.
There is a war in his country and he wants to escape (with the money).
Because of the urgency, he is ready to generously pay for helping him.

What he did not write was why he selected me to make “an offer I could not refuse”? But I think the Sender needs not to bother himself with this question: the ego and greediness of a potential victim will make him believe that he is the right person to get a lot of money for doing absolutely nothing.

If the victim swallows the bait, usually, he is asked to provide blank forms and invoices to the company that will transfer money to him. These documents may be used by the scammers as an invitation to get a visa and also to deceive other victims.

After that, the victim is told that some clerk makes problems with funds transferring, and that it is necessary to bribe this clerk with a sum of money that is only a small part of the future “income”. After the victim transfers the first amount of money, he will continue hearing endless stories about “unexpected” (but always the “very last”) fees, bribes and taxes. The victim can’t stop paying all this “fees” since he already gave an essential amount of money and hopes that this is indeed the “last fee” and the “treasure chest” is on the way. But at some moment, the victim refuses to pay the next fee: either because he can not raise more money, or because he realized that he failed.
What will happen after that?

First option: the criminals disappear in their country. I think this is the Happy Ending!
Second possibility: the victim is invited to the country to see for himself that “there are almost no obstacles to money transfer”. And this is a very dangerous scenario: if the victim decides to accept the invitation he will surely pay a lot of money and may even be killed by the criminals.

Two weeks ago I registered at some (very popular) forum and a day after I received a letter from a forum member with a "business offer". I think this "offer" is a classical scam.
But may be I am wrong? To be sure I publish here this letter, so everyone can judge for himself.

The Letter:
